چکیده

Introduction: Current evidence on overall survival (OS) between invasive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) is limited to single-center reports. We compared the characteristics, management, OS of PDAC vs IPMN using national US data. Method: Invasive or adult (≥18y) patients were identified in National Cancer Database (2004-2016). was assessed with Kaplan-Meier method stratified log-rank test. Results: included 101,190 (100,834 PDAC, 356 IPMN). A higher proportion had clinical N1 (36.8% 15.7%, P<0.001) M1 disease (41.2% 5.9%, P<0.001). lower underwent surgery (25.5% 80.3%, but a received chemotherapy (65.4% 46.1%, radiation (25.3% 20.5%, P=0.04). surgical margin-positive resection (23.0% 14.0%, P=0.001). The median for 8.3 33.4 months (Figure A). In analysis, N0M0 12.8 43.3 B), N1M0 11.5 17.0 C), while 4.0 7.0 D). both diagnoses, yielded improved OS, analysis demonstrated similar findings. Conclusions: more aggressive than IPMN, yet case metastasis equally poor. Excellent long-term achievable highly selected cases, efforts should focus facilitating treatment.

Evaluation of SOX9 expression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm.

OBJECTIVES Sex-determining region Y (SRY) box 9 (SOX9) is an important transcription factor required for development and has been implicated in several types of cancer. Sex-determining region Y box 9 has never been linked to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship betwee...

Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm.

A 75-year-old male with a history of dyslipidemia, no alcohol abuse, acute pericarditis and two pancreatitis episodes 16 and 3 years ago, consulted due to a new pancreatitis episode (amylase 536 IU/l). Abdominal CT and MRI showed irregular, rosary-like dilatation of the duct of Wirsung in the body and tail (Fig. 1). In the pancreatic body-tail, echoendoscopy revealed a 15-mm duct of Wirsung wit...

Diffuse replacement of pancreatic parenchyma by intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm.

A 63-year-old insulin-dependent diabetic womanpresented to ourmultidisciplinary group for evaluation and management of multifocal cystic lesions of the pancreas found incidentally by computed tomography during an evaluation of diverticulitis. Initial assessment included endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) by curved linear array echoendoscope. Near-total replacement of ...

Pancreatic carcinosarcoma mimics malignant intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

RATIONALE Carcinosarcoma, an extremely rare pancreatic primary tumor, is characterized by coexistence of both carcinomatous and sarcomatous components. Due to its rarity, the clinical manifestation and imaging features have not been recognized. An accurate diagnostic method has not been available and a widely accepted guidelines instructing treatment has not been established. PATIENT CONCERNS...

Development of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Associated with Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasia

We retrospectively investigated the incidence of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma among patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas. Based on imaging in 195 such patients, we chose surgery as initial treatment for 54, and periodic evaluation over 6 to 192 months (mean, 52) for 141. In 6 of the 141 patients observed for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (4.2%), p...
